I started dabbling at carp fishing just catching the odd small carp fishing with friends up my local lake Bury hill fishery’s. It wasn’t until I started fishing a local club water that I became more interested in catching bigger carp.
The addiction to carp fishing started at a very young age for me, when my dad used to take me to his local club lakes float fishing. I remember watching the float slip under and when I struck into the fish I soon realised I wasn’t hooked into the usual roach or perch. Feeling the strength and weight of my first carp on the end of that line had me hooked for life.
I was first introduced to fishing when I was 11. My Uncle John, took me along to one of the Christchurch Angling club open days, where I fished with Andy Little and caught a double figure carp. From that day I was hooked!
