The Hinged Stiff Rig is one of the most effective and consistently reliable pop-up presentations in carp fishing. The combination of a stiff boom and hinged hook section means the hookbait is held in a fixed position above the lake bed with the hook hanging perfectly below it at all times — a presentation that is extremely difficult for a carp to eject once it has been picked up. Gardner’s ready-tied version is supplied looped for quick attachment to any lead arrangement, and is tied to an expert standard using a Covert Dark Chod hook.
