Drop Out Chod Safety Clips

Gardner Drop Out Chod Safety Clips are a significantly more reliable alternative to ‘rotten bottom’ lead attachments for chod, helicopter and bomb-style rigs fished in weed or near snags. Each packet contains a full sprig of 24 clips in two weight ratings — light (approx. 3lb release pressure) and heavy (approx. 6lb release pressure) — allowing the angler to match clip strength to casting range and lead weight. Incorporating a section of silicone sleeve or tail rubber around the mounted clip before casting prevents the lead ejecting prematurely on impact with the water.

• Pack of 24 clips: 12 light-gauge (approx. 3lb release) and 12 heavy-gauge (approx. 6lb release).
• Light clip recommended for short to medium-range fishing; heavy clip for longer-range applications.
• Sleeve the clip with silicone tubing, a buffer bead or a tail rubber before casting to prevent premature lead ejection.
• Set up: splice a large ring (Flexi Ring Swivel eye or XS Covert Speed Link) onto the end of your leader, construct your Chod or helicopter rig as normal, then hook the lead onto the clip and sheath with silicone.
