Yves Deuvaert

Yves Deuvaert

My name is Yves Deuvaert. I’m from Belgium and I’m part of a family of three. I took my first steps in angling as a young lad of nine. My father taught me to fish for whitefish with a fixed rod, and I soon caught the bug. It wasn’t until I was thirteen that I switched to carp fishing.

To this day, I remain very passionate and driven. I think my limited fishing time has something to do with that. Due to a busy work and family life, I spend around twenty hours a week by the water’s edge. On top of that, I’m still involved with my fishing on a daily basis. Making plans for the upcoming session, checking the weather forecasts, preparing bait, feeding the spots, tying rigs, reading up on carp fishing – you name it. Because of my limited fishing time, I always want to be as well prepared as possible for the upcoming session. That keeps the fire burning.

I prefer fishing on enclosed lakes, large and small, on public waters or at syndicates. However, I’m also becoming increasingly drawn to the canals.

I also have a great passion for fishing in France. I usually fish on public waters. I love the adventure, moving on when necessary, fishing from a boat and spending time in the beautiful natural surroundings that France has to offer. About three times a year I head down there to fish the larger reservoirs. I also get round to the canals.

I am delighted to be part of the Gardner Benelux team. Gardner always provides the tackle I need, including high-quality end tackle that’s perfect for my fishing.

See you on the bank sometime…
