Covert Dark Mugga Hook

The Covert Dark Mugga is Gardner’s best-selling hook pattern and has been instrumental in the capture of countless big carp. The pattern’s geometry — an aggressively 25° in-turned eye, non-reversed bend and sweeping curved shank — causes the hook to flip decisively the moment the hooklink tightens, driving the point home in the corner of the mouth or lower lip without requiring shrink tube assistance. The current Covert Dark iteration represents a significant upgrade on its predecessors, with improvements across point geometry, plating and barb design.

• Completely re-specified hook point — longer, slimmer and sharper than the previous generation, ensuring faster pricking and deeper penetration on the take.
• Covert Dark single-layer matt electroplated finish provides excellent camouflage while minimising handling during finishing, keeping points razor-sharp from the moment they leave the factory.
• Micro barb across all sizes — kinder to fish mouths for commercial fisheries compliance, and structurally stronger than a full barb as less wire is removed in manufacture.
• Manufactured from forged, double-tempered high carbon steel for maximum strength relative to wire gauge.
• Size 2 available barbed only. Sizes 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 available in barbed and barbless. 10 hooks per pack.
