What you need…

Step 1. Take a soft braided link that will form the supple hook section of the combi rig.

Step 2. Form a loop in a strong monofilament, we have used red line for clarity of the photos, but recommend Mono or Fluorocarbon hooklinks of at least 15lb.

Step 3. Thread the tag end of the braided section through the loop off monofilament.

Step 4. Wrap the braid up the doubled monofilament as shown at least 6 times.

Step 5. Next, do a further 4 wraps back down the knot (towards the loop).

Step 6. Pass the tag end back through the loop in the oppposite direction to the original piece of braid.

Step 7. Gently pull the knot down, teasing the knot with your fingers so that the coils group up neatly and lock.

Step 8. Make sure you lubricate the knot with saliva before pulling the knot frimly down, locking it in place as shown.

NINE TIE AN ALBRIGHT KNOT - 8 TURNS UP AND 4 BACK DOWN GOING BACK THROUGH THE EYE OF THE LOOP THE SAME WAY. MOISTEN AND TIGHTEN DOWN SLOWLY WITH A PULLER.

Step 10. Then trim back the excess Monofilament.

Step 11. The finished knot should look like this, we recomend glueing the Albright for added security and then moulding a thin layer of Critical Mass Putty to help pin it down.

Step 11. Using a baiting needle tension the splice, by pulling on it, to finally set the splice in position.
