When it comes to ‘big names’ within carp fishing, they don’t get much bigger than Mike Willmott. Apart from being a superb ambassador to our sport, Mike is undoubtedly one of the most successful big fish anglers’ this country has ever seen.
He has been carp fishing for over 30-years and his track record of nailing big fish from difficult waters speaks for itself. Mike loves a challenge and in recent years his conquests have included the capture of a number of forties from a difficult park lake, some huge river fish from the UK and abroad and of course, last but not least, the capture of the incredible Black Mirror!
Mike has written for most of the major carp fishing mags over the years and was the author of one of the best selling carp books of all time – ‘Carp Life’. He has also given talk slide shows throughout the UK and Europe, runs his own bait company (Essential Baits) and has created his own fishery! We don’t know where he finds the time, but for obvious reasons we are more than happy to have Mike as one of our consultants here at Gardner. His experience and expertise is proving invaluable.
